Our story began over ten years ago when we became involved in the furniture industry. We had a showroom selling both imported lounges and our own Australian manufactured sofas. Life was good. Then the GFC hit and the Australian dollar went haywire, the economy bunked and unfortunately we had to close down our workshop.

Over the years we have toyed with the idea of beginning manufacture again, but the costs of labour and property were too high for us to take a punt. The idea for Lounges Direct has been germinating for quite a while. How do we support Australian Made product without the excessive overheads that can ruin manufacturing businesses? The internet is the answer!

The World Wide Web has grown to the point where many more Australians are buying furniture online.
